Aluminium pigmentation

The Aluminium pigmented coatings are applied to components by a conventional spray method. The applied coating is then polymerized at temperatures of 180°C-200°C.

Partial spray coating of specific areas on the components is the big advantage of this technology. Aero-Coating GmbH has great experience in spray coating threats of various diameters.

Aluminium pigmented spray coating offer excellent properties against galvanic and contact corrosion.

Spray coating have a great dispersion of Aluminium pigments which enables the application of a very thin but tough coating layer. The excellent prevention of fretting makes this technology predestinated for applications on pins and nuts. Fretting is often caused by tightening e.g. anodized titanium pairings. The assembled structures can be easily unfasten when pigmented coatings are used. The best performance is achieved on stainless steel fasteners that fasten components of different materials. Even after years a coated thread can be unfasten easily.

The process itself contains various pre- and post-processes including cleaning and activation. The activation can be a grit blasting or wet chemical processes e.g. blue anodizing or passivation.

Aero-Coating GmbH applies pigmented coatings from various suppliers e.g Lisi, Kal-Gard. In addition Aero-Coating GmbH is one of only few qualified applicators of Lisi Aerospace products.
